A linkage campaign involves seeding the
Net with links to your Web site. This is one of the very effective activities.
You should have three things before you start you start requesting links.
A site list:
A list of promising sites or the location of a Super
Site that contains a comprehensive set of links to promising sites.
A link letter:
Form e-mail requesting a link, all ready to send.
A button:
A graphical button used as a Hotlink to your site, ready to send on request.
One of the major benefits of a linkage
campaign is that it helps you secure a dominant position on the Net. You
may not be able to build a better Web site than your competitor, but you
can outlink them. If people see your links all over the Net, you are perceived
as the Market Leader.
Reciprocal Links
A lot of people will not install a link to your Web site unless you install
one for them. This is only natural, and you should be prepared for such
requests. It will come handy if you have some sort of Cool Links page
at your site.
