Usenet is a band of electronic bulletin
boards. Each bulletin board is called a group or newsgroup. Messages posted
on these boards are known as articles or posts
You can also post comments. In these forums,
no one is in charge, so you can say what you think. Other groups that
offer discussion, however, are moderated. The moderator will review all
messages and post only those most relevant. Moderated groups keep the
noise down and signal high; allowing only interesting messages to get
in.

Newsgroups
Topics are so varied that you'll find a group dedicated to just about
any subject you can think of. Searching the Usenet for the topics you're
interested in will reveal lists of the types of groups you should post
to. For a complete list of all newsgroups, visit the Libraries Automation
Services.
Usenet Netiquette
Never post a commercial message to a non-commercial list or you will be
inundated with flame mail. Review some of the group's messages to experience
how most messages are written. Keep your message short. To convey more
details, point them to your site or offer an e-mail address for direct
requests for more information.
